Proper footwear. Hunting boots, warm socks (or battery-powered warming socks for late season). If the weather looks to be wet, bring a pair of hunting Mucks. While most of the properties are well drained, we do have creeks and ditches.
Optics: Binoculars and range finder. Longest open distances on the properties measure no more than 200 yards with most gun opportunities being within 100 yards.
Flashlights or more preferably, battery or rechargeable headlamps. Multi-setting, rechargeable headlamps can be found on Amazon and are essential for early morning and late evening treks to your stand. Don’t forget your chargers or extra batteries!
Shooting sticks or rests. If shooting from one of our tower blinds, bean bags are provided in all towers. However, bring shooting sticks or bi-pods if shooting from ground blinds, etc.

about us
Welcome to Kingdom Whitetails! Nestled along the Illinois River in the Northern portion of Calhoun County, Illinois, we purchased our first farm in January of 2020. The “Kingdom of Calhoun,” was given this moniker due to its insulated geography being a peninsula with the Mississippi as its Western border, the Illinois River bookending it’s East and both converging it its Southern base. This makes our county incredibly unique and, like a moat around a castle, has protected its beauty and its world-renown hunting habitat.
Steeped in history, Calhoun County has seen over 10,000 years of habitation starting with the Native Americans whose living memories can still be seen and touched. Through their burial mounds sitting high atop our river bluffs, and the flint and stone tools in our fields, we are reminded we aren’t the first caretakers of this paradise between the rivers. Both the Native Americans and eventually European settlers whose footprints began to show up in 1680 with French explorer René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle. Those who have settled its lands since, have kept this resource-rich land an oasis for sportsmen.
No major highways, no railways, and heck!, not a permanent traffic light in the whole of the county!
Come join the Manos family to experience one of the most beautiful parts of the country, hunt some of the largest whitetail in the Midwest and immerse yourself in a community where family, faith and doing good form the bedrock of this incredible place.
